Kiara & Carter - A Winter Wedding at Estelle Events

There’s something incredibly special about small weddings — the kind where every person present truly matters. Kiara and Carter’s wedding day was exactly that: intimate, intentional, and full of heart.
They were married at the beautiful new Estelle Events venue, tucked into the Warehouse District in Regina. With just six of their closest friends and family standing beside them, along with a couple of sweet nephews and a niece, the ceremony felt deeply personal and emotional in the very best way. Every smile, every glance, every quiet laugh carried weight.
After the ceremony, we quickly escaped the bitter cold and headed to the TC Douglas Building for family photos and a few cozy couple portraits. It was the perfect indoor stop to warm up while still keeping the day moving smoothly. Once everyone was ready, we bundled back up and braved the Saskatchewan winter for wedding party photos at the Legislature Building.
It was cold — somewhere around -25°C (or maybe colder) — and I may have had everyone holding their breath while I snapped photos just to avoid clouds of warm air in the shots. You would never know it from the photos though; Kiara and Carter absolutely crushed it.
After photos, we made our way back to Estelle Events where dinner and drinks quickly brought the feeling back into everyone’s fingers and toes. Heartfelt speeches followed, then a quick cake cutting and first dances. One of the most memorable moments of the night was during the mother–son dance, when the groom’s cousin sang and played guitar live — a truly beautiful and emotional touch that had everyone quietly soaking it in.
Once the dance floor opened, the energy shifted and the party was officially on. There were laughs, big moves, and even an unexpected (and very entertaining) dance-off between the ring bearer, the groom, and a few other guests — easily one of my favorite moments of the night.
A huge thank you to Rebecca for joining me for the day, assisting, and listening to all the wisdom I could squeeze into a wedding day. It’s always flattering to be asked to mentor, and even more special to share the experience with someone eager to learn.
Kiara and Carter — thank you for trusting me to capture such a meaningful day. Your wedding was proof that you don’t need a big guest list to have a truly unforgettable celebration.
