This summer, I had the pleasure of photographing a truly remarkable wedding—Alana and Avery’s celebration of love. For those who followed my previous work, you might remember that Alana and Avery were part of Steph and Ryan's wedding party last summer. It was a joy to be part of their special day this time around, capturing the magic from start to finish.
The day began with Alana and her bridal party getting ready at her family’s home. The excitement was palpable as the bridesmaids and Alana shared a fun champagne pop before slipping into their elegant dresses. A memorable moment was Alana's first look with her friends, filled with joy and anticipation.
Meanwhile, Avery and his friends enjoyed a relaxed start at a stunning home in Regina Beach. The boys kept things casual, setting the tone for a day full of laid-back charm and heartfelt moments. Both Alana and Avery exchanged handwritten cards, a personal touch that set a deeply emotional tone for the day ahead.
The ceremony took place at a breathtaking ranch just outside Lumsden, overlooking the serene valley. Despite the sunny and hot weather, a refreshing breeze from the canyon made the setting perfect. Avery’s emotions were evident as he watched Alana walk down the aisle, and her brother’s violin performance during the signing of the wedding papers added a poignant touch to the ceremony.
After the vows, the wedding party had a blast traveling around the city in a party bus, hitting iconic photo locations like Government House and the Legislative Building. The bus ride was filled with laughter and camaraderie, making for some truly fun and memorable shots.
The reception at the Performing Arts Centre was a visual delight, with stunning drapery and decor setting the stage for an evening of celebration. Alana and Avery’s entrance was a highlight, featuring a shotski that added an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. The speeches that followed were a mix of hilarious anecdotes and heartfelt sentiments, perfectly encapsulating the love and joy of the day.
From the emotional moments to the fun-filled celebrations, Alana and Avery’s wedding was a day to remember. It was an honor to capture the essence of their love and the joyous spirit of their celebration. Sherry and I had a blast!
