A Rain-Soaked, Love-Filled Celebration on the Family Farm | Haley + Noah

A couple weekends ago, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a portion of Haley and Noah’s intimate wedding celebration — a day that, despite the rain, was filled with warmth, connection, and so much heart.

While the couple actually eloped privately in the spring, they gathered with close friends and family on Haley’s family farm (a place steeped in generations of love stories) to celebrate their marriage. Many members of Haley’s family have said “I do” on this same land, and it was incredibly special to see that legacy continued.

My time with them started with family portraits, followed by some fun group photos and time with the couple themselves. And, in true prairie fashion, the skies opened up and it poured the entire time I was there. Like... full on drenched. I ended up absolutely soaked — but spirits stayed high thanks to Haley, Noah, and their incredible wedding party who rolled with it like total champs.

We got creative, found sheltered spots, embraced the cozy vibes, and captured some beautiful, candid moments — umbrellas, boots, and all. There’s something magical about rainy wedding days, and this one proved that you don’t need sun to have an unforgettable celebration.

Before I left, I spent some time photographing the cocktail hour under a large white tent on the property, catching guests laughing, reconnecting, and watching a video of Haley and Noah’s private ceremony (which had more than a few people wiping away tears). I snuck out just as dinner was being served, leaving them to enjoy the rest of the evening surrounded by love and the smell of good food.

This day was a reminder that the best moments aren’t always picture-perfect — they’re the ones full of heart, laughter, and people who are down to dance in the rain with you (or at least stand in a puddle and smile for the camera). Congrats again, H + N — your day was beautifully you.
