Jill & Stephen | I Do's and Ice Cream

Some wedding days are filled with beautiful details. Others are filled with unforgettable moments. Jill and Stephen's wedding day was overflowing with both.

The day began at The Atlas Hotel, where Jill spent the morning getting ready with her closest friends and family. There was such an exciting energy in the room as everyone put the finishing touches on hair, makeup, and dresses, knowing it wouldn't be long before she would walk down the aisle.

Meanwhile, Stephen and his friends and family casually got ready at their home nearby. RC said it was quiet and calm while anticipation began to build.

Before heading to the church, we shared one of the most emotional moments of the entire day.

Jill planned the sweetest first look with her dad. Before asking him to turn around, she handed him a photo of herself as a little girl dressed up in wedding attire. As he looked at the photo and reflected on all the years that had led to this moment, there wasn't a dry eye in sight. By the time he turned around to see his daughter as a bride, everyone watching was wiping away happy tears. It was such a thoughtful, heartfelt way to honour their relationship, and one I'll never forget.

After drying our eyes, it was time for another first look—this time with the bridesmaids! While it may not have been quite as tear-filled, their excitement was absolutely contagious. The smiles, hugs, and laughter perfectly captured just how loved Jill is.

The ceremony was intimate, heartfelt, and wonderfully personal. Surrounded by family and friends, Jill and

Stephen exchanged vows they had written themselves, making every word even more meaningful. It was short, sweet, and filled with so much love.

As the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle, guests welcomed them with a whimsical bubble exit. Watching them walk hand in hand through a tunnel of floating bubbles, absolutely glowing with happiness, was pure magic.

From there, we headed to Wascana Park for family portraits, bridal party photos, and plenty of time with just the two of them. The beautiful scenery was the perfect backdrop, but honestly, these two made every location shine simply by being together.

One of my favourite surprises came when we finished portraits ahead of schedule. Instead of heading straight to the reception, we squeezed in one extra stop: The Milky Way Ice Cream Parlour—the very place where Jill and Stephen first met all those years ago. It was such a fun and meaningful way to celebrate the beginning of their story while starting this exciting new chapter together.

After enjoying a sweet trip down memory lane (too busy for ice cream, unfortunately), the celebration continued aboard the party bus before everyone returned to The Atlas Hotel for the reception.

The evening was full of thoughtful touches that reflected Jill and Stephen's personalities. Guests played Cornhole to earn kisses from the newlyweds, heartfelt speeches had everyone laughing and tearing up, and a delicious buffet kept everyone well-fed before the dance floor opened.

Their first dance was made even more special with a projected slideshow playing in the background, highlighting memories from throughout their relationship. It was another beautiful reminder of just how far these two have come together.

Before the dance floor officially filled up, we slipped outside for a few golden hour portraits on the patio. The soft evening light, the quiet moment together, and the joy written all over their faces created the perfect ending to an already incredible day.

Jill and Stephen, thank you for trusting Colleen, RC and I to capture such an important chapter in your story. From emotional first looks and handwritten vows to bubble exits and ice cream memories, your wedding day was filled with so much love, laughter, and intention. It was truly an honour to witness it all.
