Some love stories are written in the stars — they just need time to align. For Angela and Shawn Love, fate worked quietly in the background for years before bringing them together. Fifteen years ago, a mutual friend tried to set them up, but that first date never happened. Life carried them in different directions… until a decade or so later, another friend — unknowingly — tried again. This time, they said yes. And from that moment on, everything simply fell into place.

Their wedding day began at Holy Family Parish, where sunlight streamed through the stained glass as friends and family gathered to witness the next chapter of their long-awaited love story. The ceremony was filled with beautiful personal touches — readings shared by loved ones, songs sung by old friends, and a deep sense of gratitude and joy that lingered in every moment.

Angela walked down the aisle to an instrumental Metallica song, chosen especially for Shawn — a perfect reflection of their shared sense of individuality and connection. Her handcrafted veil featured an intricately embroidered eagle, a heartfelt tribute to her late father that carried his spirit with her as she took each step toward her future.

And then came one of the most unforgettable moments of the day — Angela singing softly to her new husband. Her voice filled the church with emotion, moving nearly everyone to tears. It was a moment that captured who she is: graceful, strong, and endlessly loving.

After the ceremony, we embraced the golden warmth of autumn for portraits behind the Legislative Building, surrounded by trees alive with colour. The soft breeze, the laughter, the way they looked at each other — everything about that moment felt timeless. From there, we shifted to Darke Hall, adding a touch of urban elegance to the day’s story before heading to the Ramada to celebrate.

The reception was a perfect mix of romance and joy — a beautifully plated dinner, heartfelt speeches, and decor filled (appropriately) with LOVE. A highlight of the evening had to be their emcee’s whimsical surprise: a custom-written Dr. Seuss-style story titled “The Marvelous Marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Love.” It was charming, funny, and deeply sweet — much like the couple themselves.

From a missed first date to a love that was always meant to be, Angela and Shawn’s story is proof that timing truly is everything — and that when love is destined, it always finds its way home.
