Ashley and Skylar tied the knot on a hot and windy Friday afternoon – the kind of summer day that calls for cold drinks, plenty of laughter, and just a little flexibility when it comes to hair and makeup.

The morning started with the girls getting ready at the Delta Hotel while the guys hung out at the Home Inn & Suites. Nerves and excitement were high, but one of my favorite moments of the day came when Ashley and Skylar decided, almost spontaneously, to have a first look in the hotel lobby. It was sweet, simple, and so them – the perfect way to kick off the celebrations.

From there, the ladies piled into the party bus and made their way to the docks at Wascana Lake, where the group boarded a boat to Willow Island. Surrounded by water, trees, and a warm summer breeze, Ashley and Skylar shared heartfelt, handwritten vows and a unique sand ceremony, blending the grains into an hourglass to symbolize their new life together.

After “I do,” we braved the elements near the Legislative Building for formal photos. The wind and the sun didn’t make it easy, but it definitely brought out some laughs and candid moments that perfectly capture the spirit of the day

Guests were welcomed to cocktail hour at Wascana Place, where the Lady Slipper Courtyard set the perfect backdrop for mingling. Soon after, Ashley and Skylar made their grand entrance to cheers and applause, and everyone enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner crafted by a seasoned chef. Between courses, friends and family shared stories, memories, and plenty of laughs – the kind of speeches that leave your cheeks sore from smiling.

When it came time to cut the cake, things took a slightly unexpected turn – Skylar accidentally tipped it over! But in true Ashley-and-Skylar fashion, they just laughed it off, and everyone still enjoyed every bite of the (slightly rearranged) cake.

The night wrapped up with a packed dance floor, colorful lights, and even a few lightsabers making an appearance. It was the perfect ending to a day filled with joy, adventure, and unforgettable memories.

Congratulations, Ashley and Skylar – your wedding was truly one for the books!
