Lisa & Derek - Couple

I want to tell you a short story about two very kind people.

A little over a month ago, I was in a car accident. I was merging onto the ring road during rush hour traffic, and a man who was driving too fast and wasn't paying attention, rear ended me. When I pulled over the man who hit me wasn't apologetic or concerned. In fact, he was irate, yelling and swearing; like the accident was somehow my fault.

Luckily, a man, (who I now know as Derek) came over to defuse the situation and make sure everyone was okay. While the angry man called the police, I went over and talked to Derek and his girlfriend, Lisa, about what they had seen happen. I was probably visibly shaken up, due to both the accident and a grown man screaming at me. They were both so kind, offering to stay until the cops arrived and giving me their information so I could use them as a witness when I reported to SGI.

So many people cant be bothered to assist others after an accident, but, Lisa and Derek did. They took the time out of their day to make sure everyone was okay. They stayed until the situation was handled and we were ready to continue on our way. When SGI called to take the statement, they answered, and told them what they knew. They didn't have to do any of these things, but, that night, they showed me kindness.

A couple weeks after the accident, when they found the other driver at fault and I had repaired my car, I reached out to Derek via Facebook to say thank you. I offered them a mini session as a token of my appreciation and Im so glad they said yes! They have been together nearly seven years, and had never had photos professionally done. It's the least I could do for two very selfless people!
